Yesterday I was on Fox News Radio to discuss the need to not only support vocational training, but remove the negative stigma that comes with it. Students today need to know that there are plenty of credible opportunities when entering the workforce, and though college is an excellent option, it isn't the only option. I also talked about the need to keep career politicians accountable by imposing term limits, and that when elected, I plan to only serve two terms in the U.S. Senate.

#LeilaniEstatesEruption #KilaueaVolcano UPDATE (July 26 at 6:30 PM): Words can’t describe the mana or magic of this incredible moment captured by Leomana Turalde of Nā Pualei O Likolehua presenting hoʻokupu before a fountaining #Fissure8 in #LeilaniEstates while visiting from Oʻahu for Ka ʻAha Hula ʻO Hālauaola World Conference. “Watching them dance, every part of my body was feeling the mana. Everyone standing there with me was in tears. They felt it too. All of us. The poli...ce officers, the National Guard members, and the kamaʻāina all shared this moment. Such an amazing experience that I will forever cherish,” Turalde wrote, adding that he recently got permission to post the video after speaking with many of the dancers. • Three months ago today, the first fissure opened up on Mohala Street — changing the lives of thousands of Puna residents and officially claiming more than 700 homes. Since May 3, USGS HVO geologists say nearly 800 new acres of land has been created in the form of a #lavadelta that is filling what was once Kapoho Bay. #Lava has also covered more than 13 square miles — most of it coming from fissure 8, currently the only active fissure, which continues to produce a channelized flow that is still entering the ocean at Ahalanui. At this time, USGS confirms the western margin of the flow near #Pohoiki has not advanced significantly and remains approximately 500 feet from the Pohoiki Bay/Boat Ramp and Isaac Hale Beach Park. HVO officials report that more than 53 hours after the last Kīlauea summit collapse — the longest interval between events since May — Halemaʻumaʻu Crater once again slumped inward releasing energy equivalent to a 5.3 magnitude earthquake. Experts say another surge in the flow is expected following this afternoon’s collapse. Out of 536 billionaires in the USA, only 3 are black. Why the stark racial divide? Well it's complicated, but it turns out our history of racism has a lot to do with it. From segregated schools that receive less funding in property taxes, to the history of redlining black homeowners, to the long history of slavery, oppression, and segregation, white families were accumulating wealth. That "old money" has provided the capital for the modern-day billionaires, and even average-i...ncome white families, to stay significantly ahead of black Americans. So how can we fix the wealth divide in America? Franchesca "Chescaleigh" Ramsey addresses this in this week's Season 2 throwback episode of MTV Decoded.
