Opioids and our gun violence crisis are the real risk, not people seeking aslyum.
Opioid use disorder has become a major health concern in the US. It affects men and women of all ages, but pregnant women are especially at risk. If you’re taking opioids, here’s what you need to know -
Have you discussed opioids with your teenagers? Do they know what opioids are and the risks involved? It may be time to have that conversation. #parentingteens
Are there any low risk substitutes that could be attractive to current opioid users? E.g., would smokeable opium have any appeal (and how big would residual risks be)? Anything else? What would be the “e-cigarette” of opioids?
"'Their marketing has gotten beyond the evidence,' says Kevin Fiscella, a professor... at the @UofR who specializes in #addiction #treatment and research. 'We don't know, exactly, what the long-term risks [of #Vivitrol] are.'"—@BillCapHill @Chicago_Reader #OpioidEpidemic #opioids
New post (What are opioids and what are the risks?) has been published on GLOBAL NEWS 247 -
I think that UDS is legally self-protective when prescribing opioids. It may also help one to learn something about the patient that requires intercession. But more important is to learn holistically who is the patient and what are the risk factors for adverse event.
No, you are a salesman. And what you’re selling will harm people. Perhaps even kill them. Because you are so narrow-minded that you cannot see the risks as well as the benefits from opioids.
